ONSEN · DAY TRIP / OVERNIGHT
HAKONE
Forty-five kilometers west on Route 134, then the road leaves the sea and climbs. Up the Turnpike, Lake Ashi and Sagami Bay spread out below — soak in an onsen and ride home, or stay the night by the lake.
THE SPOTS
01
Hakone Turnpike
A 14km toll road climbing to 1,000m in one sweep. Taking it at sunrise with a V-twin under you is worth the trip on its own.
02
Taikanzan Lookout
The summit of the Turnpike. Mt. Fuji over Lake Ashi — the classic rider photo, and the weekend morning meeting spot for Japan's bike scene.
03
Tenzan Tojikyo
A traditional hot-spring bathhouse in the hills — one of the few that welcomes guests with tattoos. The perfect reset after the passes.
04
Lake Ashi
Staying overnight? Sleep by the lake. Empty shoreline roads at dusk, mirror-flat water and Fuji at dawn. This is what multi-day rentals are for.

GOOD TO KNOW
International Riders: The following documents are required:

② Your home country driver's license (original)
③ Passport
※ Without Category A on your IDP, you cannot ride.
